One of the most important parts of property management is placing the right tenant. At RHOME, our screening process is built to protect your investment from day one. In this video, Jason LeDell walks through what that process looks like and how we go the extra mile to prevent fraud.
Screening Tenants the Right Way
“Some tenants qualify with a standard deposit; others might require a higher deposit. And some just don’t meet our criteria at all.”
Every application is carefully reviewed based on our predefined policies. We look at income, credit, rental history, background checks, and more. If someone meets the criteria, we move forward. If they’re close but not quite there, we may recommend a higher security deposit to mitigate risk. If they don’t qualify at all, we don’t make exceptions.
This consistency is key not just for fair housing compliance, but for protecting your long-term returns.
Why Fraud Prevention Matters
“There’s a lot of fraud out there right now… We’re double-checking and triple-checking everything.”
Fraudulent rental applications are on the rise. That’s why we’ve added extra layers of review and verification to every application. This includes:
Verifying income and employment through third-party systems
Reviewing ID and documentation for authenticity
Checking public records and rental history
Flagging any inconsistencies or red flags for manual review
We don’t just take documents at face value; we validate them.
Protecting Your Property Starts with the Right Resident
At RHOME, we know that a great leasing experience starts with placing the right tenant. That means screening thoroughly, applying criteria fairly, and staying one step ahead of fraud. It’s all part of how we manage your property like it’s our own.
